The Price of Insubordination

You lecture them, you try to be patient, you cut them slack day after day. And then the human does something or says something that puts you over the top. He's really lucky that I just gave him this little nip. Next time, he might not be so lucky...

It's a shame that every so often you must administer some discipline, but then some humans are slow learners.

When I first moved in, I bit everything that moved. Then Mom started going, "NO BITING," every time I bit her, and she left her hand right where it was, like I wasn't doing anything terrifying to her, which often included scratching at her with my horrifying back claws at the same time. It appeared to be making no impact whatsoever. Frustrating!

Looking at your person's hand has made me think... I just wasn't biting HARD ENOUGH! Sheesh, I'm slow...

I loves to bite Mom's feet, 'specially right after she gets out of the shower!

Biting is thereputic. The humans should thank us for getting our frustrations out by biting them, otherwise there'd be panic in the streets as rogue kitties snapped and wreaked havoc on an unsuspecting world.

At least, that's what I would do.

I'm new to this blog. My name is Andy but my owner, Steve, calls me Nosey. Steve's female routinely gets bitten by me. She's so dumb and just never learns. We've lived with her for eight years, but she's still an interloper in my book.

Henry, you might enjoy the story that appeared on yesterday's Salon.com. It was entitled "The Cat Whisperer" and was about how a lady had to hire a cat behavorist to stop her cat, Thompson, from biting! Isn't that the silliest thing you've ever heard of? My attitude is: don't do anything wrong, and you won't get bitten.
